Pinhole Surgical Technique

The Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST™) is an innovative scalpel free, suture free  treatment option for patients with receding gums. This minimally invasive alternative to gum surgery can treat multiple areas of recession or even the entire mouth in a single visit. The PST™ treatment is relatively simple because there are no incisions or stitches involved.

Platelet Rich Fibrin

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a second-generation platelet and leukocyte (white blood cell) concentrate which is utilized as a scaffold containing completely natural growth factors. PRF is a by-product of a patient’s own blood which aids in healing after dental procedures, such as tooth extraction, as well as to promote healing around the bone or soft tissue grafts and dental implants. Utilizing the PRF process our doctors are able to take advantage of your body’s natural healing capacity.

Dental Implant Information

Our doctors can replace missing or damaged teeth with an aesthetic, functional, and durable restoration. Same-day solutions are available for front teeth as well as for the full dental arch. We exclusively use the Straumann® system, which has one of the highest success rates available and a nearly 50-year track record.

Sinus Elevation

The upper back jaw (molar and premolar area) has traditionally been one of the most difficult areas to successfully place dental implants due to poorer quality of the bone that grows in this area as well as the close proximity of the maxillary sinus, an airfilled space within the upper (maxillary) jawbone.  The issues with the quality of the jawbone have largely been addressed by implant manufacturers through advances in the surfaces the implants utilized today.  Microscopically roughened implant surfaces maximize the amount of bone that can contact the implants which increases the success rate of implants placed in this areas of the jawbone.

Esthetic Crown Lengthening

Over the years, you have probably seen people with teeth that appear to be short, or who appear to have a “gummy” smile. Katie Couric, who is beautiful nonetheless, is a classic example of an individual who would benefit from esthetic crown lengthening to correct her gummy smile.

Sedation

Fewer than 50 percent of all people in the United States see a dentist regularly. Putting off dental care only makes the situation worse – and more expensive to fix. While some people are just too busy for multiple dental appointments, most people who avoid the dentist do so out of fear. But now a revolutionary new option is available to help fearful patients overcome their anxiety

Regenerative Procedures

Your periodontist may recommend a regenerative procedure (bone graft) when the bone supporting your teeth has been destroyed. These procedures can reverse some of the damage by regenerating lost bone and/or gum tissues.

Nonsurgical Periodontal Therapy

Some people think periodontal therapy in a periodontist's office always means surgical treatment.  The fact is, in its earlier stages, periodontal disease responds quite favorably to nonsurgical periodontal therapy.  Only in its more advanced stages of destruction is surgical intervention necessary.  In fact, surgery is reserved for those situations when nonsurgical therapies have failed to achieve the desired clinical outcome of periodontal health and to repair damage to gum tissue and bone as a result of periodontal disease.

Immediate Implant Provisionalization

Dental implants have progressed to the ultimate in tooth replacement. In many instances, our doctors are able to place an implant immediately upon the removal of a tooth and even create a temporary on the implant in the same visit. Our doctors have been performing immediate restorations on implants for greater than 15 years and considers it one of the most gratifying procedures performed in our practice.
